This is a book I would normally respond to with a lengthy personal reflection, since it’s a mainstream piece of literary fiction about Seventh-day Adventists, from a Canadian writer who is a former SDA herself. However, I was asked to write a review of it for Spectrum magazine, so I had to produce something thoughtful and well-researched, rather than just a “here are all the thoughts off the top of my head” spate of response I generally offer to readers of this blog.
