I Have Been Initiated

Yes, I have received my first rejection letter. I was somewhat broken up over it, but at the same time it was inspiring. I am now initiated into the club. I can officially say, I wrote a book and submitted it to an agency. Yes, it was rejected but I did it. Isn't that the most important part anyway? Just being able to say you accomplished the task of writing a book. Not everyone can do that. I am, of course, never going to be satisfied with just writing a book. No, I want to publish. I will do what it takes to see my work on paper, bound together with an epic cover. But, with my first book down, on what I plan to be a trilogy, what do I do now?

Currently I am writing on Just for Kicks, my YA/ Middle Grade fantasy/ comedy/ drama, what-have-you book. It's funny, fun, and just a good story. Oh, and those aren't my words. I'm not that egotistical. Anyway, after stressing over the first book for quite some time, I can only imagine what stress the second and third will bring. But, will it get easier? This question is a tough one, considering there are many factors at play. Yes, I know my characters now, I can push their lives forward. But, can I push the story forward? Where are they going to end up? What if I can't top the first book?

All these question run through my head on a daily basis. Though I haven't started the second book. I have thought about it quite a bit. But, I don't feel comfortable yet to move forward. So, I have decided to write Just for Kicks first since it will be a single novel and then follow up with the second book to the Nymphs trilogy.

No matter what happens, whether I am publish or not, at least I never gave up.
