Word of the Week #382:
None of us wants to fall, right?
I mean, sure, there are those among us who enjoy the occasional bungee jumping, or skydiving, or what have you…
But by and large, when we are trying to climb the rungs of life, we don’t want to fall, right?
We do fall, though. As much as we may wish not to, as much as we may try not to…
But most of us are not the type to fall once and stay down, are we? Hell, we’ve probably already lost count of the number of times I got back up, dusted myself off, and rushed back up the mountain.
Actually, that’s the thing. That is why I am beginning to wear down just a little bit.
Why do I have to keep “rushing” back up the mountain? Do I even have to? Would it be such a bad thing to just sit down at the basecamp for a few minutes and just recover? Just assess my wounds, at least?
I don’t know. Maybe there’s something wrong with my wiring.
And now that the mountains I’m hoping to climb loom higher than ever before, I suppose the falls would be harder than ever before. The abandon with which I stride onward and upward, however, remains unchanged.
What’s the worst that can happen, right? I’ll just get back up, dust myself off, and rush back up. Let’s see where I end up, yeah?
