   if good character development can be told through a fast-paced story, then i prefer fast-paced. i value good character development and being given a reason to care about the people in the story, so if that's being sacrificed for the sake of the pace of the book, i'd say i prefer a book that takes its time.

     I prefer fast-paced unless it's a cozy book. So many books these days you have to wait 40% or 50% in before anything interesting happens. *cough* Uncle Stevie *cough* lol
