Sonara.ai is an AI-powered job search automation platform that finds and applies to relevant job openings on your behalf.

They aim to do all the heavy lifting to get you to the interview stage.

It was built by two friends out of frustration at how time-consuming it could be to apply for jobs. They’ve been working on Sonara since 2021 and officially launched in March of 2022

They’ve posted a few updates about the project on Reddit, including a recent one announcing…

Over 1000 users100 people hired through the platform$85,000 in revenue

The revenue comes from charging job seekers; the more you pay, the more jobs you can automatically apply for. (See their pricing page)

For now, the app works for remote jobs in the US

The founders have been experimenting with different ways to acquire users…

We’re testing social media, SEO, SEM, Paid Ads, email campaigns, and all sorts of growth hacky ways to get to job seekers.

So far, TikTok seems to be the place that has worked best for them…

The first sponsored TikTok post we did got over 280K views, 16K saves, and netted us over 100 paying customers…. So the lesson is don’t promote yourself; have someone else promote you.

Pretty sure this was their first sponsored TikTok post, and the ROI on it was pretty damn good…

The best-performing post we sponsored only cost us $150 and netted almost half a million views.

Also, I get the impression that Sonara got their first users by asking on Reddit “for ideas on where to get users“

That post got 300+ upvotes and likely several thousand views, so it was excellent free marketing for them
