The Amazons...

In comic-book lore, seven Greek Goddesses led by Hera helped create the greatest warrior women ever to exist, namely the Amazons.

The first sacrifice was one of pain, i.e., the tears of Aphrodite. They were designed to bestow “passion and the relentless nature of the ocean” in every Amazon warrior.

Each goddess contributed to the spell and mothered a new tribe of Amazons. From one of these tribes came the demi-goddess Diana, aka Wonder Woman, the daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta (Queen of the Amazons).

Now, when you notice that the tears of Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of love and beauty, was the first ingredient in the creation of powerful warriors, you realize that Madonna (the singer) was right when she penned the verse “Love is a battlefield.”
