1, 2, 1, 2. Test. Is this thing on?
So let's get the marketing news out of the way. Magic Genius Books has generously offered 10 signed first edition copies of The Dent in the Universe for a GoodReads giveaway. If you'd like your book signed by some guy with a cigar, you should absolutely enter. The contest runs from 6/26 through 7/10. Here's the link!
Okay, now that that's out of the way, I thought I'd tell you that my brother, an actual physics professor (retired) has read the book and liked it. He wants to offer notes on the science in the book. I look forward to that cuz I love talking physics with my bro, but here's the thing about science and science fiction. It can never be accurate 100%. See, the priority in science fiction has to be on the story you're telling. So, the science always has to take a back seat. AT BEST, science rides shotgun. The story always drives.
That said, the science in science fiction also has to sort of rhyme with accurate science. It has to be somewhere in the neighborhood so that kids reading it won't walk into physics classes with absurd notions of reality.
Anyway, that's my take.
Doc.
