Technocracy: What if a Facebook ‘Friend’ is Arrested?

My WND Technocracy column today was inspired by the recent arrest, on rather horrifying charges, of a particularly unctuous martial arts figure.

…[T]he only acceptable, moral response to news that someone in your online social circle has been accused of a serious crime is immediate and strong condemnation.

The fellow in question — who was arrested on charges of possessing child pornography — has online friends, as we all do.  None of these individuals has disavowed him yet, despite his long criminal record and his most recent legal issues.  This is evidence of a serious lack of character in those friends.
