Reality Check: Colonization

In the first book of my trilogy, Pegasus Colony, WSC Moon Base sent 2,035 people to colonize an alien planet that would become their permanent home in the Pegasus Constellation. They brought building materials with them and planned to disassemble their ship to help build their new city.

Reality Check: When we hear NASA is preparing to colonize the Moon, we think long-term residence. In reality, NASA will build a moonbase for humans to stay for one month at a time.

The moonbase is the first baby steps toward building an infrastructure that could become a colony. Colonizing the Moon could be the first steps toward expanding farther into our Solar System.

In my story, we’ve already colonized our Solar System. Pegasus Colony is our first galactic colony and is Earth’s greatest achievement.
