An Open Letter to My FBI Agent
Dear Reader,
I have decided to post my blog entry early this week in honor of something I do on Tuesdays called: "Talk to your FBI Agent Tuesday." I honor this little event every Tuesday on the social media site Gab with an appropriate meme or blurb.
The premise is that dissidents like myself are under constant surveillance by the FBI, and given the recent whistleblower testimony, my little assumption may in fact be true.
So, this week's blog entry is in the form of a letter to Jim, the FBI agent who monitors me. Now, I don't know if Jim is his real name, but I wanted to give him one to bring a human side to the other side. See, dehumanizing your enemy is only beneficial once the shooting starts, and we're not quite there yet.
At any rate, here is my letter to Jim:
Dear Jim,
I wanted to take a minute to reach out to you and see if you are doing ok. I realize how chaotic and crazy things must be for you over at the bureau. After all, a whistleblower just exposed your employer as evil. I don't' know how much you' are involved in said evil, but being that you are assigned to me, chances are you're not too deep in it. I'm sure the higher up agents watch the big fish, while a little dissident author like me is at the bottom of the rung, as you likely are too.
But Jim, that's a good thing! It's "all right to be little bitty" as a country song goes, because the smaller you are, the easier it is to walk away. And my message is that you can! You don't' have to be mixed up in this anymore. You don't' have to go after Trump supporters or Catholics or parents at school board meetings!
You can catch real criminals! You can even help take the whole evil system down. It won't be easy; the whistleblower said that the FBI does a good job of ruining its enemies.... but nothing ventured, nothing gained, for yourself, your children or for our nation.
And should you decide to do so Jim...or even just walk away, I want you to know that I am here for you. You can come in out of your car, out of those bushes, out from behind your screen and say "hi" to my face. I'll make you coffee, or get you a soda, and we can talk as human beings about how hard it is not to get caught up in the evils of this world.
Dissident to Fed. It could be fun! It could be original! It could be just what you were waiting for!
There is hope out there Jim. There is life. There is good over evil, but only if enough commit to it. This is an invitation for you to do the right thing, and it only expires when I do.
God bless you, Jim. I'll be waiting.
