Announcing the publication date for Song of the Mysteries

I am pleased to announce that we now have a schedule for Song of the Mysteries, the FINALE volume of the Wars of Light and Shadow series:

PRE-ORDERS will start in September of this year.

PUBLICATION DATE will be in May 2024.

This gives new readers a year to catch up, and older hands with the world of Athera time to brush up with a re-read.

This is the culmination of FIFTY YEARS of planning and work, and also this year is the THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY of the first publication of Curse of the Mistwraith.

I cannot wait for you to have the book in hand, with the explosive culmination to all that has gone before and a few things you cannot imagine, although the seeds were well laid, many as early as volume I.

I've been checking the kindle store regularly for it. Barnes and Noble has the Nook version, but I would like the one from Kindle, also!

i may just use an audible credit to get this. I am planning on re-reading the whole series this summer.

Absolutely, yes, people have had to use the search carefully but you should be able to find it. Where are you located?

Michelle, it ought to be listed, no problem! Sometimes you have to 'wade' past reseller listings to find the correct Amazon page, but I'm honestly stumped there's a problem - where are you located?

And David: there IS now a forthcoming audio book for Curse of the Mistwraith (vol 1) it is now available for pre-order coming out April 25th.

I'm in Virginia Beach, Janny! I was able to preorder the hardcover without any problems; it's the kindle version that seems to be MIA.

Thanks - I looked up the page, verified no kindle listing for Amazon USA and also searched Kindle Store - wrote to publisher to inquire if this is proper, or if they are doing a 'staggered' release. I will report back when they do. Meantime: I believe that Kindle has shifted platform so that E pub will work on their devices, they are 'dropping' Mobi - maybe your unit will be able to display the e pub version? Ask someone in the know..?

message 14: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I had forgotten about the switch to epub! Hmm. I'll have to figure this out. Thanks for pointing it out!

message 15: by Janny (new)

Janny I have wrtten the editors asking what's what - even if they'd switched to epub, the Kindle store should probably list it, and 'other editions' ought to bring up the e book ... I will report back when I find out what's what.

Thank you! It's pretty sad because you shouldn't have to browbeat the publishers. They should be working with you to make this book a success. I just don't get it.

Agreed. It's disheartening! Response today: it's been passed on to the assistant editor who will be looking in to it. I swear, there was a Kindle listing before - one wonders what happened to the pre-orders on that page - I will be pursuing that also. Meanwhile, thank you for your interest and enthusiasm, it is people like you who made it possible to finish this volume out, and I am grateful!

Word back from the editor's desk, they've gotten after Amazon to restore the listing - it should crop up once the behemoth updates it - let me know, or update me on the situation, if you don't get any joy in a week or so.

Thank you sincerely for flagging this, and a note to anyone else who may have pre-ordered the Kindle edition of Song of the Mysteries - check your preorder status and make sure it wasn't dropped in this SNAFU.

Thank you! I just checked Amazon last night as a matter of fact, but it's not there yet. Slackers :) I'll keep checking.

Michelle Yay!!!! I just found the kindle listing and was able to preorder it! I retract my "slackers" comment 😂

Thank you - without your flag on this issue, I'd not have known it was a problem, nor tackled the publisher's desk to get it fixed.

Anyone else who may have pre-ordered Song of the Mysteries in Kindle format/do check your order to be sure the page glitch didn't drop it.

And: I am thrilled to announce Colin Mace is confirmed as the narrator for the audio book version of this title!

All good!
