Deborah and Valentins did their secret handshake. Deborah closed the door behind her, and Valentins returned home. His mother arrived an hour later, pleasantly surprised that Valentins had made breakfast. Val knew that his mother would be asleep for the rest of the day and wouldn't notice that he didn't surface again until dusk.
