Warriors utility Dylan Walker has become the first player of 2023 to escape a suspension after taking on the judiciary and winning.

He had been charged for a head slam on Melbourne recruit Eliesa Katoa and given a two-match ban, but successfully had it downgraded to a $2500 fine.

Walker, who was replacing the injured Te Maire Martin at five-eighth, found himself sent to the sin bin for the shot just before halftime of the Storm’s 30-22 Anzac Day win.
