Spring Goals

Spring goals… Well, I’ve convinced myself to take things slow after my break so I don’t end up in severe burnout, but I still want to have some accountability. Things this spring won’t seem too busy from a reader’s perspective, but for me, my schedule will be filled with editing, formatting, and design.

Yep. The Wild is officially edited and formatted, but I'm waiting for some fun content for the print versions (FYI, I'm squealing about this because it's different from anything I've done before.) The Wild is available for pre-order with an August 1 release date.

There’s a war coming, and Wren Aisling is at the center of it.

Wren’s deepest desire is to fall in love, marry, and raise a happy family like her adoring parents. Her prospects are meager, given her father’s minimal income and stature, but she has hope, prayer, and copious love in her heart. What her future holds, though, is more than Wren ever could have imagined.

The kingdom of Willowspire has been cursed—their former king promised death and destruction would fall upon Willowspire for their role in his son’s death. But when a mysterious stag shows Wren glimpses of the future, she begins to realize the story about their kingdom doesn’t quite add up.

Jude O’Ryan knows his place is not to fall in love with his employer’s daughter, especially when he harbors secrets that would put his head on a chopping block, but he can’t help himself. Destined for a fate worse than death, he follows Wren into the depths of despair to save their kingdom from the curse of The Wild.

Prince Cavalarius Alsandair is sick of being sick, but he cannot escape his torturous, humiliating illness no matter how far or fast he might run. His people hate him for his weakness, and prospects for marriage are nonexistent, bringing further shame to his family name. But his heart is wild and free, and all it takes is one chance encounter to change everything.

Wren, Jude, and Cavalarius’s worlds collide as they try to save Willowspire from certain death and to set right all that went wrong long before their time. However, among all the startling discoveries and the lies they uncover stands one undeniable truth: It was never their fight at all.

I’m also prepping some fun stuff for my Journey Down release. I’m considering a pre-order goodie bag, so if you like that sort of thing, be sure to let me know! Journey Down is also available for pre-order with a June 20, release date.

Journey Gray and Chance Prince go to the grave together... that's prophecy.

Between warring political factions and skirmishes against neighboring planets, Earth in 2532 is a dangerous place. Journey Gray never had the best luck, but when her Papa is gunned down near Penn Station, leaving her an orphan likely to be conscripted into one of the factions for survival, she’s left with no choice but to run.

Chance Prince has been by her side since they were babies, but when Journey’s escape from Earth goes wrong, they end up in a war she never meant to spark. Just when all hope is lost, there’s a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel—but to reach it, Journey must face human-eating aliens, comrades who hate her guts, and a boy who can’t stop ruffling her feathers.

I have a secret project that is a collaboration, but I can't say anything else just yet! There will be an announcement very soon, and once I'm given the go ahead, I'll send out a blog all about it! I will say this, I've never written a book so fast in my life! But I really wanted to be a part of this fun collaboration!

I'm giving another WIP a moment to simmer while I think through some plot holes. This one is interesting because it is a whole new set of characters in a new kingdom, but there are so many ties to my Wardens of the Raven Court series. It's a stand alone, but also works really well as a side story to that series, and one of the characters will even show up in the next Raven Court book! Turns out, the reason that book was taking so long to figure out was because there were misssing characters! That happens sometimes, but I love that it's coming along now. Side note... there is also a character from The Wild that will appear in the second book of the Raven series! Again, you don't have to read those books to understand anything in the Raven series or vice versa, but it is fun!

I’m still working on the final book in The House of Aurum trilogy, but that is more of a summer goal now since some other projects (like The Wild that I accidentally sent live instead of saving… oops) took priority. It already has 20K words, so it's about 1/4 done already. I'm still shooting for a September release as always with this series.

That’s about it. We will see how far I get this spring and check back in this summer for another update!
