Robbie’s Inspiration – Vocal Tautogram Challenge, Tanka Tuesday and Sunday Stills #poetry #worldawakens
I am late with this post because I worked over the weekend. Somehow, that seems to leave me with very little time for myself as all the other family stuff must still be done. I am also a little behind with post reading but I will try to catch up this week before the Easter Weekend. I am taking a blogging break for Easter this year.
This week’s Tanka Tuesday prompt is the world outside your window. Terri’s Sunday Stills prompt is the world awakens. It is autumn here in South Africa but the view from my window is still rather lovely and features sunflowers which are in full bloom.

I am doing a series of pictures in charcoal and oil pastels of natural phenomenon that interest me like flowers and insects. I am planning to write five haikus/tanka poems for each artwork covering the five sense. These three haiku relate to my sunflower picture above.
Exotic dancer
Flamboyant in yellows and greens
Stands out in a crowd

No floral fragrance
Accompanies this lady
Merely early scent

The other three poems I wrote for this sunflower series are tautograms. I didn’t think I could write one but my blogging friends Harmony and Michele did it and encouraged me by their success.
A tautogram means that each word in the poem starts with the same letter.
I have written three:
Seed Social which you can read here: https://vocal.media/poets/seed-social
Spider Shelter which you can read here: https://vocal.media/poets/spider-shelter
Sated which you can read here: https://vocal.media/poets/sated-ys730lvp
