Wars, battles (often with swords or magical elements), injuries, death: these are elements often found in epic fantasy, and with good reason. Epic fantasy deals with protagonists who are faced with decisions that affect not just them but the larger community (the realm/s for example or the whole world even). Consequently, the protagonists’ mission is often entwined with conflict between peoples and countries and their success or failure has large scale consequences.
