New podcast series features J.K. Rowling in conversation with Megan Phelps-Roper
The Free Press announced today that J.K. Rowling will appear in a new podcast series, The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling, hosted by writer and producer, Megan Phelps-Roper.
This wide-ranging audio documentary examines some of the most contentious conflicts of our time, and includes J.K. Rowling talking in depth about the controversies surrounding her, from book bans to debates on gender and sex. The series also examines the forces propelling this moment in history, through interviews with Rowling’s supporters and critics, journalists, historians, clinicians, and more.
The series begins on Tuesday, 21 February 2023.

She's literally a transphobe. I can't believe people still support her and her beliefs. She used to be my favorite author but now that I know she hates my friends and I for something we can't control, I've realized that she is simply a bad person. Not to mention the blatant anti-Semitism (displayed by the Gringotts goblins) and slightly covered-up racism (house elves, names of the characters of color). She disappoints me greatly. I know that this comment section has many cis heterosexual white people who aren’t affected by these problems, but I would have thought that some of you would have compassion. If you think that you can separate her actions in and out of the HP franchise, you are wrong. She has literally stated that anything that supports Harry Potter (from fanfiction to watching the movies to listening to buying merch) she sees as support of her beliefs as well.
I urge you all to at least look into some of the things I’ve mentioned, even if you don’t believe me initially.
Way to go Rowling for standing up to her bullies and for standing up for women. :)
