Reviews of Mark Miller's The Two-Headed Lady at the End of the World

There’s a lot going on in Wamba, Texas. Miranda is polyamorous, and Amanda is monogamous. That’s navigable if you’re twins, but if you’re twins who’ve been conjoined by a top-secret particle collider, it’s a bit more complicated. Joe and Buck are the lonely soldiers manning a long-forgotten, underground military base. As they come to accept their isolation, they are forced to wrestle with their own complicated feelings. The sentient supercomputer overseeing America’s nuclear arsenal, lovestruck by a Pentagon fax machine, has the most complicated dilemma of all: he must convince her to love him back or blow up the world. Here’s hoping everyone finds love before the nukes are launched.

“I doubt many books have defied categorization as much as Mark Miller’s The Two-Headed Lady at the End of the World….A mind-blowing experience.”

“Singularity never looked like this before. Nor has love…. Dr. Strangelove mixed with a heady rush of hormones that returns a high-octane romance on steroids. Expect the unexpected.”

“We could treat the imminent end of the world as a tragedy or as a comedy, and Miller comes down firmly—appropriately, in my view—on the side of the latter. This is heady and clever stuff.”

“For all that the book shines a klieg light on humans’ sheer self-destructive stupidity, the characters learn and grow about, from, and through love. “

“Absolutely 4 out of 5 stars! I found myself with a slight bit of mental whiplash and loved every second of it. It was entertaining, immersive, and one of the most creative reads I have had the pleasure of enjoying.”

“I am not going to compare Mark Miller’s writing to another author because there is only one Mark Miller. His humor is quirky and zany and a bright spot in this universe.”
