In love with Stephanie Garber's book "Once Upon a Broken Heart"
I gave this book to a friend for Christmas knowing she would like it and she did. And as we do many times, she loaned it back to me so I could read it. I could not get enough of Jacks and Evangeline!! The fascinating characters and unique story moved at a quick pace keeping me thoroughly engaged. I haven’t read a book so fast in years. The world-building was delightful and the detailed descriptions of the creative fashions reminded me somewhat of the Capital scenes in the film Hunger Games. I knew this was the first book in a trilogy but was sad the book ended on a cliffhanger.
Absolutely enjoyed this read and I definitely want to read the next book.
Young adult bordering on adult. Slow burn exciting but clean.
