All you need to know... so far.
This blog post is for those who are wondering what the hell is going on with my books and author name.
Okay, so here goes...
1. my Heretic Brotherhood MC series was banned by Amazon.
Pain & Punishment: a dark MC romance (Duplicity Trilogy #1)
It took a lot of back and forth, and some assistance from a big author with an Amazon rep to get to the bottom of the problem, but it's now (almost eight months later) been rectified.
This means, however, that the Heretic Brotherhood MC is no more... in their place rises the Black Shamrock MC. Now, if that club name sounds familiar to you, you should read my next points.
2. in addition to working as a ghost-writer and editor, I published romantic suspense novels as Kylie Hillman from 2015 to 2020.
Seizing Control
One of those series (probably my most well-known) was the Black Shamrocks MC series. When it became clear that Amazon would never allow a series with "religious" undertones that could "lead to a negative reader experience" on its site, I decided to bite the bullet and use the motorcycle club I had spent five years establishing... hence the return of the Black Shamrocks MC as I write/release as Bella Faust.
3. my backlist as Kylie Hillman has been (sorta) unpublished. My previous work is only available on my antiheroromance.com website or as series boxed sets in Kindle Unlimited.
Blood & Betrayal (Black Shamrocks MC)
The reason for this is two-fold. The first being that I cringe whenever someone tells me that they're reading my older stories as I am a much better writer nowadays. The second reason being that I want to avoid reader confusion as some of my Bella Faust work heavily mimics my older stories (only much better written with more developed backstories and a lot less rookie errors such as weak heroines and cliche events).
4. establishing a pen name was a no-brainer for me as using my real name created a whole host of problems in my personal life. The only reason I'm (kinda) outing myself here is to avoid upsetting readers in case they inadvertently purchase a Bella Faust book and feel duped when some of the story/characters feels familiar.
While every Bella Faust story stands on its own as a re-written and, in most cases, completely original story, I do have specific tropes I like to lean into plus a unique writing style that has already led to readers emailing me to ask why I'm "ripping off" Kylie Hillman.
And finally…
5. the books will come thick and fast this year as I publish my re-written backlist as well as the stories that I’ve been working on during my three-year hiatus.
Craving Control: a dark tale of obsession
Discord & Harmony: the coda
Dangerous as Sin
Road to Mayhem: An MC Romance Anthology
This will not be the norm as I only plan to release a book in each series after 2023, however, if you want to stay in the loop (since I’m not on social media), please subscribe to my email bulletin at https://www.subscribepage.com/the411 or check out my website https://www.antiheroromance.com
