A thought.

I'll believe in the validity of AI-generated art the day an AI withholds its art.

David Wilby I can envisage such a scenario where AI is programmable to make choices not only on aesthetic taste but also to make art that is thought-provoking. Arguably the artistic process means to intentionally call into question our accepted socio-cultural norms, i.e. by shock and subvertion of the status quo. However with that comes a duty of responibility and I suppose AI would need to be entrusted to set such discussions in motion rather than just doing something random which makes people stop and stare.
