Book 8 started

This one takes us back to Oestragar, but then goes off at a tangent as an Eternal we've had problems with before causes trouble that sticks Alex within a training she cannot escape. Since this is a series of short stories, all self-contained but doubling as teasers for the following books, I have to come up with not just a simple story that effectively and convincingly moves THIS plot along, but one that can sustain an entire novel later. I also don't want to repeat myself, and I'm trying to dodge the Marvel trap of 'same story but the villain is even bigger and stronger than the last one'.

Book 8 (title presently unknown) has also taken a darker turn. We saw that start in Powershift, but my brain seems to be determined to continue down this route for the time being. We'll see if I can wrench it free and get back to characters having adventures but also having fun. That won't be for a while, though.
