Fun Work

This past Saturday and Monday (Sunday was too cold for this project), I spent a good part of the day power washing all the concrete areas around our house, including two driveways and the sidewalks. Here’s a photo of our trusty power washer.

In Florida, we have lots of mold and mildew that collects everywhere. Periodically, we have to remove it. One of the best tools for doing so is a power washer. I don’t know how this machine works, but water goes through the lines and out a nozzle with tremendous force and removes dirt, grime, mold and mildew. It can even remove paint. So you have to be careful where you aim that nozzle. Power washing is almost a mindless task, but I love seeing the mold and mildew disappear. I have a supreme sense of accomplishment when I am finished. To give you an idea about the project the photo below shows part of the drive that is partially clean.

You can see the clean portion and how dirty the drive is before I use the power washer on it. Here are some photos of the finished project.

Seeing the clean driveway reminds me of how God through Jesus Christ, wipes our sins away.

1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV) “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.”

Is there a cleaning project that you like to do?
