The building breathed, its brick walls inhaling and exhaling quickly to absorb the life force within. It wasn’t the wind rattling the buildings’ frame like brittle trees in the forest. And it wasn’t the casual clicking and settling of plaster and wood like the cracking of bones. The building was alive. And it was furious.
