A longtime friend of Noise who joined me at last night's Mitsuko Uchida recital at Carnegie Hall — the final three sonatas of Schubert, rendered with unflagging strength and at times breathtaking sensitivity — sends along this collage of various pianists playing the opening of the great B-flat sonata.
