When I was a senior in high school, my televangelist father provided me with a list of ten colleges he recommended. I selected Elk Grove Christian College for Men, located in Parsard, a bedroom community of Billings. Mountain Ridge Christian Women’s College was located in nearby Coboia. I knew I wanted to be involved in athletics, and EGCC had a thriving sports program. I initially considered joining the rugby team, but Dad wanted me to play football. My height and weight were just right for a quarterback at six feet one and 225 pounds.
