Blogmas 2022 Day 4 (rest day)

I hate missing church, but there was no way I was making it out of the house today. I couldn’t keep my eyes open from the moment I woke up. Despite the drowsiness, though, I did have three main goals for the day: finish a homemade Christmas gift, practice voice, and schedule some Diamonds social media posts (in order of priority). So after finishing my book in bed, I got up and got to work.

I was able to finish part of the Christmas gift (I’m so excited about it!), but not the whole thing. Aaaand I can’t say much more about that. 🙂 I spent a lot of time on Canva today making graphics for this week’s Diamonds Conference social media posts. I’m not a graphic designer, but Canva makes it easy and I enjoy it. Here’s a glimpse at what I scheduled for this week, plus a look at our current Instagram grid because I work really hard to keep it looking aesthetic. (Follow us on Instagram! You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter, but we have by far the most engagement on IG and that’s where we focus most of our efforts.)

I was sleepy and in pain today, and although I did get done the three things I needed/wanted to get done (yay!), I also spent a lot of time lying in bed, resting and sharing photos from 2022 on my Instagram Story. One prompt asked what six photos described your year, and I pulled out the following–hospitals, people I love, writing, my church, and my music studio. Man, I am richly blessed.

I ended the day by planning out my week (this includes scheduling emails to send on Monday morning, prepping work to send to my virtual assistant, etc) and picking up a baby swing from a neighbor (see below, and yes, my HR was over 170 even though I’ve taken multiple beta blockers today… I’ve now been dying for two hours).

Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that I hit a freaking F6 in my vocal warm-ups today? And yes, somehow I spent the first 20 years of my life genuinely believing I was an alto. Wild.

Today I’m grateful for: I deaccessed my port yesterday, so I was able to take a normal shower!
