Ways to Save Money at the Gym

Everyone has a different workout style and half the battle is finding out what works for you.  Many people are self motivated and prefer to work out at home with their own equipment, tapes or workout apps.

Others like the convenience and accountability of a gym.  If you're one of the people who finds it more convenient and/or less distracting to workout away from home read these tips to help you save.

~ Consider training sessions with a buddy or a small group.  In addition to the extra encouragement you could end up saving as much as 50 per cent on the cost of the sessions.

~ Check out corporate perks and other membership organizations (sucsh as Costco or AAA) before you commit to a gym.  Find out if there is a discount available to you at a specific helth club.

~ Look for introductory offers and read the fine print.   Find out the cancellation policy up front.

~ Don't assume that a trial membership is advertised.  Ask to speak to the manager and don't be afraid to ask for a free week to give the place a try or ask them to throw in extra training sessions as an incentive.
