Does Your Cat Want a BFF? Take the Test

I will always love you.

By Cal Orey, The Writing GourmetSo, are you pondering the idea "Does my cat need a feline fur fix"?  Is your four-legger showing signs that life is a bit of a bore? Tired of talking felinese day and night? Well, it may be time to test your cat to see if another roomie is in the cards.

Test Your Cat
1. Check it Out. Does your cat gaze out the window or in the yard, anticipating a visit from the neighbor's cat?
2. Chat it Up. When you meow and yowl, does your kitty respond ASAP?
3. Bring on the Stuffed Cats. Is kitty playing, dragging, and sleeping with an inanimate feline (or more)?
4. Eye Kitty's Behavior. Is your cat grooming your dog(s) or you?
5. Watch Cat Action. Does your playful feline pounce on the dog(s) or chase you?
6. View the Love. Is your puss a lap cat and/or does it snuggle up to the dog(s), human visitors, or mice?
7. Follow That Cat. Is kitty scratching your favorite things or constantly meowing?
8. Feel the Vibe. Do you sense your cat is happy but acts like something is missing?

Tally Up
Add up your answers.
The higher the score, the more likely a new feline addition is best for you and your cat.

(6-8) Social Puss: It's time. Your cat is hoping you get a clue to get a feline playmate. It's obvious. Being the number one cat is getting old. That cat of yours is dishing out telltale signs that a cat friend is wanted, yesterday. Run, do not walk, to find your cat a fur friend.

(3-5) Cat-Friendly:  Your fickle pussycat might want a kitty friend.  Or not. It's a mixed read. The odds are that if you find the right match, it may work out. But caution; be very selective and patient because Mr. or Ms. Cat may be finicky when it comes to roommates.

(2 or less)  Hermit Cat: Embrace your selfserving, spoiled kitty because the fact is, he/she likes being number one. Sure, while your cat may act lonely on occasion, it's best for you to provide human-cat playtime and bring home more cat toys and nature videos.
