No Charges Filed Against White Female Driver Who Drove Into 13-Year-Old Boys Driving Go-Carts In Pearland, TX Neighborhood | Bossip
And so it continues.
What the actual FUCK? If that was a black driver running over white kids, she'd be drawn and quartered by now AND we we be treated to dozens of news reports condemning the entire black community. God DAMN it.Nail on the head, Gail. Anyone want to take bets how long it takes for these kids and their parents to be dragged through the mud and somehow made to look the bad guys despite simply asking for justice to be meted out.
And she has the goddamn GALL to not only BLAME the kids in her latest response, but to say she did it only because she was concerned for their safety. That woman is the living embodiment of white privilege and cruelty and dishonesty. DISGUSTING.
Ahhh, this is only 20 minutes from where I live! D:
I don't know if this is a race issue though. Couldn't it be she treats ALL kids horribly? There are a lot of wreckless drivers around this area that blame everyone but themselves for anything they do. Especially if it's a kid playing in the street.
Oh, horseshit. Witnesses say she told these kids she had JUST TRIED TO RUN OVER that they, 'didn't belong there,' after having only seen them from her truck in passing.
How did she KNOW that they 'didn't belong there?' Never mind the fact that they did, in fact, live in the neighborhood?
Thank god she was their to save the neighborhood from these kids, because as we all know, most drug dealers and gang members ride in go-karts in quiet neighborhoods.
Notice how the charge of racism here is imagined to be worse than the charge of trying to run over kids. I don't mean that we shouldn't think worse of someone who hates Black kids in particular compared to someone who just hates children period, because we actually should. But nothing sets our "innocent until proven guilty!" reflex off quite as fast as the "r" word.
Someone with more authority is going to say this better than I can, but…racism is inextricably linked to violence. They aren't separate issues. This lady endangered kids because she thought they 'didn't belong in her neighborhood.' How do you take the racism OUT of that equation?
These kids were playing, in their own neighborhood, on their own streets, and that so offended this white woman that she ran into them, over the sidewalk, with her truck. No one is saying her racism is worse than her reckless disregard for these kids' lives. They are just pointing out that you wouldn't have the latter without the former.
