The 2% Mindset

I’ve often thought I was different. Not the norm. Marching to the beat in my own head. I knew my personality is different based upon the Myers-Briggs Test (I’m the least common – INFJ). Then I saw the above image and it confirmed it once again.
I am a dream chaser who is constantly dreaming, planning, thinking of what’s to come. But then I act upon it which brings fulfillment, happiness, abundance, and excitement.
But taking a leap of faith also forces me into the unknown, to explore new things, and know change is something inevitable.
I love to travel. There is nothing wrong with going to the same beach every year, but I prefer new places. But I’m always nervous on the plane. My heart races in the foreign land trying to figure out how to get to my first destination (in the cheapest way possible usually.)
I sometimes encounter the language barrier, lack of cell service (because I’m not going to pay for that while I travel overseas) so I don’t have all the answers in the palm of my hand anymore, cultural differences which can be minor at times, but they are still there.
But I push through my anxiousness to encounter new adventures and unbelievable memories.
I am not saying that I am special as I consider myself the 2%.
I’m trying to prove to anyone reading that if I can do it, you can too.
If you want to get more out of life. You can.
You may face some uncomfortable situations, but it is worth it.
If you want to feel more fulfilled, sometimes you have to pour yourself out to be filled up differently. And possibly eventually overflowing.
If you want to live without regrets, then you have to face your regrets and do it.
The majority of the world is not a very scary place. Your imagination is scarier than what’s in the real world most of the time. It’s time to face your fears and notice you are bigger than most of them.
And then when you do, you will gain more confidence to step out a little more. And then a little more. And then a little more.
Ginny Owens sings, “there is nothing more dangerous than playing it safe.”
It’s time to stop playing it safe.
It’s time to start living and not just surviving. It’s time to start thriving.
It’s time to stop procrastinating and time to start doing.
If you want to join the 2% club, it truly is possible.
Just start dreaming, then start doing, and then everything else will fall into place.
It may not be a smooth transition, but just think of it as a changing of seasons. You may be stuck in spring, but there is a summer waiting around the corner for you to walk into and enjoy.
Maybe it’s time to strut.
Peace
