Hit me where it hurts

Normal People Normal People by Sally Rooney

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am not a fan of romance, and TBH this did not qualify for spoiler reasons, but I loved this book. Two misfits find solace in each other's company and we follow them as they come of age between an Irish village and their time in Trinity College Dublin. I went to Trinity myself, so I felt kinship, especially as I had a disfunctional BF at the time who couldn't show emotions and never told anyone (over 6 years) that he was dating me. AT one stage I wondered if Sally had been spying on us. :-) It is at times frustrating and fascinating but never stalls. Highly recommended.
