‘The Last Autumn’ is a poem inspired by a walk I went on in early Autumn. We had a super hot summer here in the UK. Lots of vegetation was shrivelled and wasted already; it had an almost apocalyptic feel. And yet it was so beautiful. The slowly turning foliage, the river rushing by, the crisp Autumn air. I couldn’t help thinking about the timeless beauty of nature and how - no matter what happens - that beauty remains, even if it’s only in memory. And memory is indestructible.
