Kristen I don't think I'm going to be able to say a number without counting like Oot. This is a problem, as I work at a bank...

Bev Kodak Apostrophe jokes, The Hobbit, and Strongbad refs in the same post. Oh, how I love you, Pat Rothfuss.

Timothy It's absolutely true. My daughter does exactly the same, she starts counting normally, and long before she reaches her limit of known numbers she just accelerates out of control and starts just yelling out numbers.

Kyle In which Rothfuss authoritatively tells us how the descriptive element is to be wielded in fantasy writing. Wise words.

Lady of the Valley Good article. I'm struggling with the same thing myself, although I'm a bit on the 'too little' side myself, wondering if people reading my story will understand the world and the problem I've created. And then I'm going to edit more info into it and it feels like I'm loosing the magic and the flow. Now that I read your story, I will go over my edits with your article in mind. Maybe I can hold on to that magic after all :)

About 'Jen'... I didn't understand since I do not know Strongbad. I watched the link, and it looks like something I don't want to know ;)
