I love my jobs. I work about four of them at any given time. On the whole, I like the people I work with, and for, very much. This hasn't always been so.
The appropriate response to the question, "Give me your Facebook password," should be the sentences, "I'm sorry, there's apparently been a misunderstanding. Are you telling me you don't want me to work here?"
Living a life that is appropriately dynamic and assertive requires self-respect, and this means drawing your boundaries. You have to protect those boundaries, and the price for that is sometimes losing your job. This is a hard choice to make, but would you rather live life on your own terms, or bend your knee and grovel like a worm to anyone who threatens to fire you?
