For some years now, there has been an unsuccessful attempt to get Miguel Malvar (1865-1911) into the roster of Philippine Presidents. Frankly, Malvar is better served by his inclusion in the pantheon of heroes, in recognition of his military exploits as Katipunero, during the Philippine Revolution against Spain, and General during the Philippine-American War.
