The lesson I learned today was that the fine folks at my local post office really love to open everyone's mail. I wasn't entirely surprised. Once I went there to drop off packages and SAW the blonde chick opening someone else's mail and logging the contents in a 3-ring binder.

But when I got that "postage due: $4.95" envelope in my mailbox, my heart filled with dread.

Because I have been known to mail books to my readers at the Media Mail rate with...gasp...BOOKMARKS IN THEM.
