Perhaps you've heard the phrase, "straight and narrow" as a reference to good behavior and honesty. Similarly, literary references to "walking the razor's edge" imply a risky balance.
The Middle Way in Eastern philosophy, particularly Buddhism, is such a reference — remain centered, balanced, vigilant, and responsive. Do not be mislead by extreme views nor tempted by false dichotomies.
The Middle Way is also the emotional heart between our mind and body, which connects to the soul's position between spirit and matter (Cause & Effect).
