BEHOLD! New Website = New Goodies

I realize that this announcement is probably not as thrilling to the rest of the human population as it is to me, but here it is:

I have redesigned my website.

And by "I," I really mean "Forefathers," who are crazy talented web designers. I asked them to design a site that would fit all of the extras for all the books and incorporate some of my art and be easy to navigate. I didn't think it was really possible, but they've done it. And it is now officially live at www.maggiestiefvater.com.

And there are all sorts of goodies there that I hope readers will like. Such as:
- all of the book trailer tunes for download
- prequel and postquel extra stories for the faerie books
- discussion guide for Shiver
- wallpapers and icons
- playlists for all the books
- the recipe for November Cakes
- foreign editions and where to find them
etc. etc.

I will also be gradually moving my blogging presence over there, too, though I'll try to make the transition slow and painless by mirroring blog posts over there for awhile (although not this blog post. It seems strange to put a blog post about your new website on the blog which is on your new website).

So let me know what you think!

Leanne I love it! I love how the page slides along when you select something, I love that it includes several of your horse paintings, and I love that you will be rolling your blogs into one on the website.

The colours are gorgeous, the misty forest image makes me want to wander in to my computer screen (but would have me checking over my shoulder often . . .for the monsters).

And the goodies.. I haven't even gotten in to that yet, but am looking forward to the novel playlist in particular (though I know they already exist, they are now easier to find), and of course November Cakes.

Only gripe is the font is too damn small. That or when I hit 26, my eyesite has failed me.

You must be stoked. It looks great, Maggie.

Leanne Hmmm, I feel the need to say that perhaps the font is a problem that relates to my browswer, and not the website.

If I want to fit the entire front page on my screen, which I do, I have to zoom to 70%, hence tiny font. Otherwise I can only see 'Welcome Rea'. Being slightly OCD, this distresses me. Ha.

So. Perhaps it's not you... it's me.

But then again, maybe it's you.

Iliana I love it! completely new concept! I actually like it more scrolling sideways instead of up and down, very good idea!

message 7: by Plaama (new)

Plaama It's great! Really well made and easy to use, not to mention pretty as well. I like how for every book there is another sub-site with it's own individual style. Really, really beautiful! ^_^
