Taking up space

Regardless of where we look, we can probably see all sorts of objects, items and goals accrued or accumulated over time.

As symbols of the consumer society, they remind us of how things are often nice-to-haves as opposed to need-to-haves, to borrow the words from the inspirational book Pig Wrestling by Lindsay and Bawden.

That the things are there is what it is. What is interesting now is the extent to which they continue to provide us with benefits, meaning or pleasure.

And they do, no? Otherwise, they are merely taking up space.

Brian.
