A to Z Challenge, Day 3, Letter C- C is for Couponing…A Little of What I Have Learned…
Day 3- Letter C- Couponing!
I find when saying this word about half get excited and the other half roll their eyes at you. Why is this? I believe its misinformed opinions for the eye rollers and the "I get it" for the happy folks. Couponing can become an obsession and a regret, so I can understand the eye rolling, but it can become an asset to your spending life, if used wisely.
Coupons were made for two reasons, for their creators to get your business and for the buyers to save. If we do use them wisely, coupons can help us get things for almost nothing or at least a little less.
I have just recently finished getting "educated" about couponing from a wonderful friend who was kind to give her time and her know how to others. I learned a lot and did get excited. Since this is the A to Z Challenge and many are visiting mine among the many others, I want to keep this short, but still informative.
So here goes…
http://hip2save.com/- this site can be your friend, she'll tell you where the deals are and how to get them. (Where to find the coupons and does the math for you too)
If you love Walgreens – http://www.iheartwags.com/– This site will tell you the weekly specials at Walgreens. Pay attention to their register rewards sales (their white boxes); it will also tell you if there is a manufacturer coupon that can be used with it. Register rewards then can be used on your next trip there. So you are saving! Remember to pay attention to Manufacturer coupons that could be used with their on sale items as well (they take them with their own coupons too!)
If you're a CVS shopper, there's a blog for that one too! http://www.iheartcvs.com/ -you get rewards there too, but you do use a CVS card (free, just fill out form at register)
Don't be afraid to use coupons. You can get them from the Sunday paper, Red Plum and there are coupons that you can print off from online. 50cents is saving 50 cents and a dollar is even better! Saving is always worth the effort and couponing is worth it.
Buying things on sale saves you in the long run as well. If your box of toothpaste is on sale for $1 and its normally $2.50, well you do the math. You save $1.50! So buy it! And don't just buy one tube, buy two or even four and there you go! You then just saved (look away as I count on my fingers) $6.00! And now you're stocked up for a few months!
So here's a little bit of my "couponing" help and if you have advice to share, please post it!
Happy Savings,
A.D.
P.S. A very Happy Birthday to my neice Juliann!!!
