Day 3,221: Solaris

Watched Solaris with Josh tonight. I freaking love that film. So. Much. I think it might be the only movie that does the 2001 thing…and might do it even better. Literally, I think it’s the only film I can say that about. It’s really, really good stuff.

Neither film is perfect — both can be accurately criticized as being slow, or actually boring in parts…but once you accept the pace at which they’re deliberately unfolding, what’s left is something truly deep, affecting, and genuinely important...
