SheReadsALot I am a fan of Ms. Nelson's work. I have read the stories in question that is being compared...they are NOT the same. Do I think you stole from Ms. Nelson's work? NO. The similarities are a Russian male lead with a history of mob life, an African-American female lead and a Southern background (Nelson - Tenn. and Taylor - Texas). Your characters are nothing alike, Ms. Nelson's work has more focus on current mob crime life. So, Theodora, don't get caught in the hype of a few ignorant fans.
