Today is a very special day! My Little Mermaid-inspired romcom A LINE IN THE SAND is out in the world! 🧜🏻♀️📚🐶
I wrote this book right after I got Charm as a tiny puppy, and I promise it has so many adorable Cavalier puppy moments, in addition to swoony, beachy romcom vibes. And in a way, this book has been a long time coming. It’s the second book in my Turtle Beach series, which is set at a fictional small beach town in North Carolina. I based Turtle Beach on a real-life place called Topsail Island, NC. My family has been visiting Topsail regularly for over twenty-five years, and it’s one of my favorite places on earth. In fact, I’m there with my family right now!
Topsail Island has a very active sea turtle rescue program, which started out as a tiny turtle hospital in a garage. Over the years, I’ve seen this program grow and grow, and they now have a beautiful, big facility for sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation. Click here for more about the Sea Turtle Hospital! I have so many wonderful summer memories involving sea turtles, and I’ve always wanted to include turtle rescue in one of my books. A LINE IN THE SAND is my love letter to puppy Charm, Topsail Island and the sea turtles that call this lovely place home. I hope it fills you with sunshine, love and laughter!
