Dispatch from the Desk: Working on the 2nd Book of a new trilogy

SIR is now three years old and I have begun working on a three part SIR Trilogy concerning names that "undefined the defined." It took me 10 years to write SIR in which I became a mother myself and witnessed so much state-sanctioned police brutality against Black bodies. Now for my second book in the series, I am focusing on the maternal lineages within my family, the history of the land, and art history to create another hybrid of poetry, journalism, memory, and hauntology. I have almost 400 pages but so many new things keep transpiring and the format keeps haunting, collapsing, imploding, and exploding upon itself. To say the least the manuscript is a beast that cannot be tamed at the moment but I am enjoying the ride for all that it is worth. I cannot wait to share the fruit of my labors with you dear readers. There are so many writing projects that I want to explore and take on that I simply cannot channel them all fast enough. It is such a blessing to be on this journey. Cheers to the readers and writers out there! Thank you for all that you are and what you do. Creating is not an easy task.
