Publishing is the easy part.

My illusions of grandeur were very short lived as I realized rather quickly that publishing your eBook is the easy part. Once it's out there it's not like the whole world just automatically knows it. If you really want to be successful I've learned you must market yourself.

Well what about those of us that have never been on Facebook before or even commented on a blog. I know it sounds crazy but I had never done any of those things before today. I have scoured the internet for ways to market your book and the same theme keeps popping up. Social Networking. Since this is a relatively new concept for me as I was an avid anti-facebooker since Mark Zuckerberg created it, I decided to bite the bullet and finally sign up. In doing so I realized there are actually a lot of people I know but not as many as most other people out there. For instance one of my closest friends has over 300 "Friends" on Facebook while I only have around 40. Most of those being family that are already well aware I have published a book. The others, to the best of my knowledge, don't like science fiction.

So I'm stuck. Where do I find my fellow nerds out there that love sci-fi as much as me?
