“…an odd, maundering aggregation of anecdotes and elegy.”

So there’s one day left on the kickstarter, and among the many stretch goals we’ve unlocked while bringing Digger back into print, was one where I said folks would get a sneak peek of the foreword.

So I’m going to throw that up here today.

But first, I want to show you the graphic that I made with Julia on the livestream a couple days ago, that shows nice mockups of the books and gives details about them, including all the upgrades we’ve been able to include.

Kirsty What a fantastic venture, I’m intrigued by Digger in a good way. I can’t wait to see it on the shelves in the UK.

It's been a while since I read the first two books. But a lot more recently than most people, I think. I seem to remember them being fairly entertaining. But if I had known this was not a complete series I would never have started it. I like to flow from one book to the next, while it is fresh in my mind. At this point I would say the series is probably finished for me.
Hard to believe Hobbs could finish her 10 book Assasin/Fool series and PR can't manage a single trilogy. Not going to bother with any of his other works unless he manages to finish this one. And only if they are completed.

Nabil Or...or....hear me out. If he finishes the triology, then some people will get angry because how the books ended. You cant satisfy everyone. Other thing to remember is that if those really popular books arent finished then the author is still in the limelight. Finish the books then all the attention fades away.

Will Stillwater Well it is a bit similar to movies these days. Look at Avatar. That's a long time to wait for sequels. And Dune. They made the first one with no guarantees that any further movies would be made. Top Gun is another. But somehow, I don't lose any sleep over movie sequels.
Reading a series of books is a time consuming and dare I say, more invested experience. Not achieving a conclusion, is frustrating and leaves you feeling a bit cheated. I find.
I guess this is just the world we live in now. The difference is, Patrick doesn't have to wait to see if someone will finance his book, or to see if the technology to write it has advanced enough. He just has to put fingers to keyboard.

Taisey Downie I am quietly hoping whatever creative block he is having ends, so desperatly want to read the third book.

Jack Taylor Where is the chapter that you promised to release back in February 2022?!

You took people's money and ran. Absolutely appalling behaviour.
