Today wasn't just the last day of school for the year. It happened to be my last day of teaching public school and in a bilingual program. I know without a doubt that God has called me away and has opened up a whole new opportunity for both me and Mike. I also know I need a change. Nothing felt real today, as much as I tried to tell myself to soak every moment of the day in, but it didn't hit me a bit. Yet.
I'm sure I'm not supposed to be sharing these pictures, but since my blog has so few readers, I want to post them for my own memories of this very multicultural group that I got to teach this year.
My "Mexican" crew
My "Salvadorean" crew
My Guatemalan boys
My "Honduran" girl (I had another Honduran boy, but he was absent today)
My "Honduran" friend/coworker
If you notice one child in several pictures, he just couldn't decide where his family was from, so he joined us all! LOL
After school, a parent waited outside the door for me to give me this beautiful vase full of a dozen roses of my favorite shade of pink. She hugged me and thanked me for all my work with her daughter. Priceless.
Today I said goodbye to the kids. Tomorrow I turn in my keys and say goodbye to my coworkers and my home away from home for the last 19 years.
