It's Alive!!!
Nunca a típica frase do filme do Frankenstein fez tanto sentido: "It's alive!" O meu portátil, que há cerca de duas semanas resolveu fazer greve por estar fartinho de trabalhar, está de volta a casa.O meu marido pediu a um colega de trabalho para ver o que podia fazer e eis o resultado: a bateria pifou (ou seja, só trabalha ligado à eletricidade) e foi formatado (agora tenho o Windows XP Professional). Tive que passar umas quantas horitas a reinstalar programas e a copiar ficheiros de um lado para o outro, mas ao menos o portátil está operacional e não perdi os documentos que receava.No futuro mais próximo tenciono comprar um disco externo onde gravar os meus documentos, pois, infelizmente, tenho demasiados ficheiros para conseguir gravá-los numa pen e o meu portátil continua a não querer gravar CD's ou DVD's (coisinha teimosa!).Vamos lá ver até quando aguenta. Espero que durante muito tempo! Façam figas ;-)

My laptop, that about two weeks ago decided to strike because it was sick of working so hard, came back home.My husband asked a coworker to see what he could do about it, and here's the result: the battery died (ie, my laptop only works connected to electricity) and the hard drive was formatted (I now have Windows XP Professional). I had to spend a few hours reinstalling programs and copying files from one place to another, but at least the laptop is working and I didn't lose the documents I was afraid of losing.In the near future I intend to buy an external hard drive where I can save my documents, because, unfortunately, I have too many files to burn them into a pen. And my notebook still refuses to burn CD's or DVD's (stubborn little thing!).Let's see how long it lasts. I hope it does for a long time! Cross your fingers ;-)
