"From time to time I wonder how much more I'd write if I had no day job except writing fiction, and then I remember. . ." I had to come to terms with this myself where my vocational work is concerned. No matter how much I may wish I could spend all my time writing, doing spiritual direction, and serving as a celebrant, none of them are likely going to generate enough consistent income to keep a roof over my head, much less retain medical insurance.
